We have experience and intimate knowledge of the development of Q-SCAL™, a software platform to visualize, aggregate, and especially, facilitate quality control of special core analysis (SCAL) data. The systematic quality checks in the program take advantage of mathematical and empirical models to which the data should conform. Nonconforming data can be identified and scrutinized further. This approach minimizes subjectivity in data evaluation.

The software environment also facilitates modeling, averaging and normalization of SCAL data for reservoir studies. Only data that pass robust quality checks are archived in the corporate database. The database structures in Q-SCAL simplify data mining.
